Bibury Trout
You can buy fresh and smoked trout from the shop at Bibury Trout Farm , in the centre of the village. Or you can catch your own! The farm was founded in 1902. It breeds and rears high quality Rainbow & Brown Trout. Each year up to 10 million Rainbow Trout are spawned. A third of these are sold to shops, the remainder are used to stock rivers & lakes.
Stroud Farmers Market
This award- winning Market is on every Saturday in the Cornhill market place from 9am to 2pm. The produce is excellent and you can meet the local producers. Look out particularly for cheese from Birdwood Farmhouse from Minchinhampton & Godsell’s Church Farm cheese from Leonard Stanley.
Uley Brewery
The Brewery was built in 1833 on the site of the lower village spring outlet. The Brewery was refounded by Chas Wright in 1984. Uley uses traditional methods dating back to the 17th Century to produce its famous pints. The Old Spot beer is its most famous. It was brewed first as a special beer for the Frocester Beer Festival.
Winstones Ice Cream
Perched on the edge of beautiful National Trust Common Land, Winstones is one of the longest running and most highly awarded ice cream producers in the country.Winstones began life in 1925 when Albert Winstone began making ice creams from his farmhouse kitchen using a family recipe.
The award winning premium dairy ice creams and sorbets are made in the historic factory.30 real dairy ice creams are produced using the finest organic short- horned milk from cows that graze on the National Trust land adjoining the factory.
The Lavender Bakehouse – Chalford
The reputation of the Lavender Bakehouse has spread far and wide. Whether you want Breakfast , Lunch or afternoon tea, this is the place to come. Many of the ingredients are sourced from local suppliers. Cakes and Patisserie are baked on the premises. Try the orange and lavender cake or Chocolate and Beetroot cake! Afternoon high tea from 3pm is an occasion – so booking is required.
